no they are not burnt, they’re supposed to look like that …

Dear everyone,

What a beautiful weekend it looks like being! To celebrate the sun we are lucky enough to have three really wonderful new traders on Sunday. They’ll be regular fixtures if they like the place so please be nice to them and buy a little something if you like the look of what they do. More about them below, and other news as follows, with best wishes:

1) Martin’s catch of the week is still TBA, but he’s definitely coming and he’s been talking about his smoked fish pâté so we’ll hope for a bit of that)

2) Alan and Dee are MIA this week (something to do with a bakery floor) but the Pie Station is back next Sunday

3) returning stalls include Local Honey & Mokaya brownies, hand made fudge and PAO pickles

Finally to make a proper party of the day there’ll be live music by Luke the funky jazz clarinetist

see you there - I think it’ll be good fun!

New stalls

1) Laines biodynamic farm is a 30-acre plot in West Sussex run by Dutch lady Toos Jueken. This amazing garden has a smaller selection at this time of year, but everything they bring will be really unbeatable quality, and considering the labour-intensive nature of this manner of agriculture it’s extremely good value also. Expect potatoes, onions, daikon & black radishes, various cabbages and kales, leeks, squashes and sprouts, jerusalem artichokes, carrots & beetroot. (that sounds like quite a lot in fact!)

2) Also new this time is A Portuguese Love Affair, the little cafe and deli acclaimed for making the best pasteis de nata (custard tarts) in London. Have a look at the photo above and if you like the look of it be sure to turn up early, before they go.

3) Flat earth foods, working with Ela’s natural skincare to bring the best and most sustaining goodies, some home-made, others imported from abroad; all nourishing and health-giving.
